And we have to admit that its performance is terrible. Here are some facts over the last month:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>We failed to download the whole blockchain on the computer with HDD. We made 5 attempts (each of them lasted more than 1 day).<\/li>\n<li>On two computers out of three, the wallet overloads the system to the extent that it becomes impossible to work on them.<\/li>\n<li>After 2 hours of being offline, it could take the wallet 20 minutes to synchronize the latest blocks \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoin.org\/en\/wallets\/desktop\/windows\/bitcoincore\/\">Bitcoin Core<\/a> would complete the same task within a few seconds.<\/li>\n<li>The computer got stuck once with the wallet launched. After reboot, the wallet wouldn\u2019t open. We managed to resolve the issue by deleting and re-downloading blockchain.<\/li>\n<li>Insane system load in comparison with Bitcoin Core:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-373 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/2miners.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/image4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"828\" height=\"338\" data-wp-pid=\"373\" srcset=\"https:\/\/2miners.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/image4.png 828w, https:\/\/2miners.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/image4-300x122.png 300w, https:\/\/2miners.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/image4-768x314.png 768w, https:\/\/2miners.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/image4-800x327.png 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 828px) 100vw, 828px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s look at the bright side:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The number of wallets is unlimited.<\/li>\n<li>Wallets are stored in the form of files protected by passwords that you choose when you set up wallets. Without a password, nobody can do anything to your wallet.<\/li>\n<li>A special avatar is generated for every wallet \u2014 it helps to check every time whether the destination address is correct or not.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-374\" src=\"https:\/\/2miners.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/image6.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"654\" height=\"147\" data-wp-pid=\"374\" srcset=\"https:\/\/2miners.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/image6.png 654w, https:\/\/2miners.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/image6-300x67.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 654px) 100vw, 654px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>You can monitor token balance and send tokens to other addresses.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>MyEtherWallet<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.myetherwallet.com\/\">https:\/\/www.myetherwallet.com\/<\/a> is an online wallet that you can connect to its node server or any other server you want.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beware of fishing imitations of MyEtherWallet!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>MyEtherWallet (MEW) is probably the most popular wallet. It is very convenient, and it doesn\u2019t store your keys. If you are not paranoid and pay attention to the addresses you type in the browser, then MEW with either a hardware wallet or an encrypted USB flash drive with the wallet file is for you. But remember that if you decide to use such services, you act at your own risk \u2014 nobody knows what they store there and who may have hacked them.<\/p>\n<h2>TL;DR<\/h2>\n<p>If you can, store your savings in the safest place possible \u2014 offline and in encrypted form, with your private keys well-hidden. Buy a hardware wallet if you can afford it.
